The Queen's Gambit Gaming Club is about roleplay above all else, which means that some of the house rules are tighter than other venues to keep that RP focus. By attending our venue, you're agreeing to the following terms:❣ Adult Venue
Be an adult! The spa is an 18+ venue, which means that we require our patrons to be legally adults, both ICly and OOCly. If you're underage or your character is underage, we kindly ask you to move on to another venue.
❣ Communications.
Keep it IC! Keep all OOC communication in /tell, party chat or out of public view, with the exception of simple self-corrections -- typos happen to the best of us!Private posts should remain in party chat or out of public view!❣ Policy on Lalafells.
Lalafells will not be allowed to participate in the Levemetes games or the strip poker games that we play at the game club, due to the spicy nature of the games themselves! We ask for your understanding to avoid any misunderstandings.❣ Consequences.
Avoid obnoxious behavior or griefing! Also remember, there are IC consequences to IC actions. If your character is a jackass, they may be asked to leave.Repeated or aggregious offenses could lead to a ban from the premises. Please don't be that person!

The Queen of Hearts
Try our house specialty, the famous Queen's Gambit rolanberry daiquiri!We use two different types of rolanberries: fresh and frozen. We start with a base of the frozen rolanberries and skip the ice and, instead, just add 4 ounces of rum and fresh rolanberries for the added flavor and ensures that our daiquiris are never so thick that you can't get them up the straw!
The Jester's Delight
A decadent treat for those with a taste for both salty and sweet! The Jester's Delight is a stout milkshake starts with two scoops of chocolate ice cream, blended with a decadent peanutbutter stout microbrew.This drink is topped with whipped cream and a drizzle of melted hotfudge and melted peanutbutter, sprinkled with chopped peanutbutter cups.
Full House
A signature drink made using only the freshest of ingredients, it is like drinking in the surnrise over the Sagolii...in a glass!With three onzes of orange juice and two onzes of grenadine, it is finished off with 1.5 onzes of Sagolii Tequila to bring this drink to you from the desert's depths! Garnished with orange slices and fresh cherries!
The Phoenix Down
With just a half shot of Absinthe, a half shot of Jager, some simple syrup, a splash of grenadine, and club soda, you, too, can be raised from the dead!Well, not literally. Unlike its namesake, it's possible, if not probable that this drink is more likely to cause your death than to resurrect you, but fear not, Gambit staff will come to the rescue!

Gameplay Overview
The Queen’s Gambit is a cut-throat board game where poker hands determine movement across the board. Players rely on a mix of luck and strategy, using pocket cards and calculated risks to outmaneuver opponents. The goal? Make it down the rabbit hole to the finish before the others—while avoiding setbacks from high-stakes heads-up duels along the way!Your hand determines how many spaces you move!
How to Play
At the start of the game, each player rolls /random 13 twice to receive two pocket cards—a strategic reserve that can be used anytime.
Players roll /random 13 five times to form a five-card hand.
Hands are ranked using standard poker rules, minus suits, so no flushes.
Player Hands & Effects:
High card → Move 1 space, but it cannot trigger a Showdown with another player.
One pair → Move 2 spaces.
Two pair → Move 3 spaces.
Three of a kind → Move 4 spaces.
Straight → Move 5 spaces OR Immediately pull another player to you and have a Heads-Up Showdown!
Full house → Move 6 spaces.
Four of a kind → Move 7 spaces + earn a Jester card (a wild pocket card for future use!)
Five of a kind → Move 7 spaces and take an additional turn.
Heads-Up Showdowns
If you land on a space occupied by another player, you go heads-up in a poker duel!
Both players roll /random 13 five times for a hand.
The losing hand moves backward the number of spaces equal to the winning hand’s value. (Example: If the winning hand is Two Pair, the loser moves back 2 spaces.)
If neither hits then they will play high card: Both players stay put, but losing hand misses a turn.
NOTE: Players can use their pocket cards during the heads-up showdown.
Gold Hearts
Spaces with gold hearts are special!
If you land on a gold heart space, one of two things will happen, depending on the background color of the square. If it's a white background, you'll get 2 brand-new pocket cards to play with! If it's a black card, something else happens!
Strategic Play
Strategic Play & Pocket Cards:
Pocket cards can replace a card in your hand anytime to improve your poker hand.
If you win a Jester card (by rolling Four of a Kind), you can save it to use later.
Winning The Game
First player to reach the rabbit hole wins the game! The player will receive a grand gil prize that is based on the amount of entries for winning!If multiple players reach the end of the same round, they go heads-up for the ultimate showdown!

Thanalan Hold'em is one of the most popular and widely played poker variants ever. It is a game of skill, strategy, and chance, where players compete to build the best five-card hand using a combination of two private cards (hole cards) and five community cards dealt on the table.The game consists of four betting rounds: Pre-Flop, Flop, Turn, and River, and players can choose to fold, bet, call, raise, or check depending on their hand and strategy.

(Best to Worst)
Royal Flush – A, K, Q, J, 10 of the same suit. The ultimate unbeatable hand.
Straight Flush – Five consecutive cards of the same suit (e.g., 5-6-7-8-9 of hearts).
Four of a Kind – Four cards of the same rank (e.g., four Aces).
Full House – Three cards of one rank and two of another (e.g., three Kings and two Tens).
Flush – Five cards of the same suit, not in sequence.
Straight – Five consecutive cards of any suit.
Three of a Kind – Three cards of the same rank.
Two Pair – Two sets of pairs (e.g., two Jacks and two Sixes).
One Pair – A single pair of matching cards.
High Card – If no other hands are made, the highest single card determines the winner.Thanalan Hold'em is easy to learn but offers deep strategic depth, making it a favorite for both casual and competitive players alike!
NOTE: Betting & bet amounts are dynamic depending on who is playing and how much they want to bet. Our minimum buy-in is 100,000 gil with small/big blinds starting at 5k & 10k respectively. This is a fully functional 'tool' which allows us to perfectly simulate Texas Hold'em in-game.
